Even the map is a physical object the main character pulls out to get to his destination.

During Epic’s Summer Sale, many of these titles get discounted. Yet, there’s one hidden gem few people experienced, and it’s a shame, in my opinion. Days Gone didn’t sell well. Still, it’s one of the best open-world zombie titles in recent years.
The engaging narrative follows Deacon St. John. He’s a biker surviving in the middle of a desolate America. It’s set in Oregon, a place I don’t typically see in such titles. This provides unique landscapes. Endless pine forests hide many dangers, and going out at night or in the rain is an intense experience.
In this open world, the main character has a motorbike. It must be repaired and upgraded to navigate around hordes of infected and hostile human factions. The most noteworthy feature is the Horde system. In some places, “infected” will accumulate to reach hundreds of individuals, attacking any sign of life on sight. This makes for incredible unscripted sequences where I enjoyed setting traps and exploiting the environment. It makes all the difference.
The only downside is that Days Gone will never have a sequel due to poor sales. Thankfully, the characters are interesting enough to make it worth revisiting, for me at least, especially with the superior PC version.
Summer Sales Aren’t About New Titles
There are summer sales at several online stores, such as PSN, Steam, and Epic Store. Each platform features different offers. So, it’s essential to compare them. Most of the time, it’s not very advantageous on recent releases. However, I believe that’s the best way to play forgotten titles.
