Baicang

Baicang is an S-rank on-field DPS built around boss-focused damage. His kit revolves around carefully managing his HP and Power Word tracking, making him one of the more technical characters in NTE with a noticeably high skill ceiling.

Daffodil

Daffodil is a Burst DPS character that specializes in dealing break damage, which is especially useful in boss fights. This means that with Daffodil in the team, you’ll be shredding the white bar under the boss’ HP, staggering them with ease.

Chiz

Chiz is a main DPS bearing a unique rhythm-based kit, so maximizing her kit might take some practice.

Fadia

Fadia is a Psyche character who leans heavily into survival and team protection. She has a unique mechanic that redirects incoming damage to herself, letting her teammates stay focused on their roles and deal damage more freely.

Hathor

Hathor doubles as a DPS with tons of AoE attacks in her kit, and an energy battery support.

Hotori

Hotori is a limited character who will be available in Phase 2 of Version 1.0. She plays more of a sub-DPS role, with added healing and buffing utility for the team. On top of that, she also has a time-stop mechanic, which makes exploration in the open world way easier.

Jiuyuan

Interestingly, Jiuyuan works as both a DPS and a healer (A2), while also having the ability to pull enemies together.

Lacrimosa

Lacrimosa is a great pick for players who enjoy a DoT-focused playstyle, since that’s exactly where she shines. She excels at dealing strong damage-over-time effects while also bringing solid AoE damage potential.

Nanally

Nanally is the first limited S-rank NTE character joining the roster. She leans more into single-target damage and follow-up attacks, with a fairly straightforward gameplay style that’s easy to pick up. One of her standout features is her mobility; she can move across walls and ceilings, which makes her especially useful for exploration and navigating the world.

Sakiri

Sakiri is a support-centric character who can provide significant ATK buffs and crowd control by levitating enemies and suppressing them. One of our beginner tips is to get Sakiri early on, as she is a versatile support, and is perfect for ATK-scaling units.

All A-Rank NTE Characters

A-rank NTE characters are generally more accessible and easier to obtain, making them an important part of early progression. While they may not have the same raw power as S-ranks, they often provide strong utility, stability, and team flexibility.

Adler

Adler has to be one of the best A-rank units to get in Neverness to Everness. He functions as a shielder and applies damage-over-time. On top of that, he’s fairly straightforward to use. meaning

Edgar

Edgar joins the team as an accessible A-rank support. His entire kit primarily revolves around healing.

Haniel

Haniel is an A-rank Psyche buffer who can dish out a teamwide ATK buff via her skill, ultimate, and passive.

Mint

Mint is an A-rank main DPS. While her kit and damage look underwhelming compared to other units, she is pretty straightforward to use and has an adorable character design.

Skia

Skia is an A-rank DPS with a close-range melee combat style that fits well with him being an actual werewolf. He also offers more utility by being able to restrict enemies’ movement.

Are S-rank characters worth it in Neverness to Everness?

Definitely. While it all boils down to preference, S-ranks are almost always a priority.

S rank units tend to have better kits, vertical investment potential, scaling, and versatility, and some are even future-proof. Building a team purely with S-ranks also tends to raise the damage ceiling. S ranks dictate the meta. On top of that, they generally feature better character design and animations.

Which S-rank NTE character should you pull?

For Neverness to Everness, we recommend getting Nanally, Hotori, Daffodil, Jiuyuan and Sakiri.

Nanally and Hotori are 1.0’s featured characters and both are equally good. As for the standard banner, Daffodil is a must pick due to having unmatched break damage. Sakiri on the other hand is generally a useful support if you need sustain, and grouping. Meanwhile, you can also prioritize Jiuyuan, a DPS who can also turn into a healer with more copies.

The launch roster of Neverness to Everness already offers a well-rounded mix of characters, from high-skill DPS units to reliable supports and sustain picks. With a variety of roles, mechanics, and playstyles available right from the start, the game sets a strong foundation for team building and experimentation. For new players planning to jump into Neverness to Everness at launch, finding a character that fits into your preferred playstyle shouldn’t be too hard, especially with how diverse the roster is!
